Extra Credit by Andrew Clements

Extra Credit, a book by Andrew Clements is a great book.  Extra Credit is about a girl named, Abby, who only likes gym class.  Every other class she is getting lower and lower grades. It is not that Abby is a bad student it is that she thinks that doing a bunch of worksheets is boring. She think that she is just doing the same thing one way every day.  In February Abby gets a letter that she will not be moving onto seventh grade, and she is not happy, neither are her parents. The next day she asks her teachers if there's anything she can do to bring her grades up. They said that if she does all of her homework every day, gets a B or better on any test, and did an extra credit project and presented it to the class she might be able to move onto seventh grade.  She pulled from an extra credit mystery box and she got a pen pal letter. She had to write a pen pal letter to Afghanistan. Sadeed was a boy in Afghanistan who had to help his sister write letters to Abby. After about 2 months of writing back and forth Sadeed was threatened by people who do not like America and saw the American flag stamp on Sadeeds letter. So for the safety of Sadeeds town Abby stopped writing her pen pal letters.  But Abby did keep up her part of the deal and moved onto seventh grade. I loved the book Extra Credit it was a great book that I think a lot of people would like. It is even better when you read the whole book.

Warriors:Fire & Ice by Erin Hunter

This is book two of the Warriors series and It was really good ,it's actually surprising that this book is really sad and good. The Wind Clan is back and River clan and Shadow clan tried to raid them and so Thunderclan helped Wind clan. Fireheart's apprentice got her paw run over by a car and it's just really sad I really do think that this is my favorite series.

I just realized you might not know what all of that,but if you're reading this about the second book you should know. Something cool about the series is that there are a lot of books.

Warriors:Into the Wild by Erin Hunter

Into The Wild is a fantastic book that has many exciting moments that will have your heart racing. If you love a book that has thrill factor this will be one of your favorites. Many books have ups and down and this is one of them. It has multiple sad parts the will leave you heartbroken and wondering why that happened.

Into The Wild is about a pet cat named Rusty that was worried about going to the vet one day and never being himself again. He went into a clan of cats hoping that they would let him be one of them. The thing is cats in a clan have to born into the clan, but he was not like the others he was just a house pet. Thankfully the clan leader saw something in him. He was teased about being a house pet for many moons.  He got stronger and stronger trying to show the other cats that he was worthy of being in ThunderClan. He eventually made friends with GrayPaw and RavenPaw. Cats died in battle but he stayed strong. He showed that he was just like the other cats and he could fight like a warrior.

Series of Unfortunate Events:The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket

The Bad Beginning was a great book and was very interesting.  The main characters in the book are Violet, Klaus, Sunny, and Count Olaf.  Violet is 14 years old, Klaus is 12 years old and Sunny is a toddler. The book starts out when the three Baudelaire children go down to the beach.  It is very cold out so no one is at the beach. The children spot a shadow and a man is walking towards them. The children realized it was Mr. Poe, one of their parents friends who works at the bank.  Mr. Poe told them their parents had perished in a terrible fire. The children become very sad.
Mr. Poe tells them they will stay with him for a few days until he takes him to Count Olaf which is there fourth cousin three times removed.  Count Olaf is really a bad person. Count Olafs plan was to steal the Baudelaire fortune.
My favorite part was when the three Baudelaire children outsmarted Count Olafs plan. Another really good part of the book is when Count Olaf invites is theater troupe over for dinner because you get to hear about his theater troupe.  I thought this was one of the best books I have ever read.

Skink No Surrender by Carl Hiaasen

My opinion of Skink No Surrender. First I gotta say this was one of the best books I have ever read. This book just feels good to read. It creates a huge mystery that makes you want to read and read until you finish the mystery. The sad part is that when I was reading this I didn't have that much reading time so it took me a long time to finish. The great thing about the book is it didn’t finish the story till the very last page and sentence so I didn’t know what would happened. Skink no Surrender had an unusual sense of urgency. One of my favorites parts of the book has to be when Skink is in a fake turtle nest. Another one of my favorite parts is when Malley was rescued. Last is when Richard learned to drive

Series Of Unfortunate Events :The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket

This book is about three children Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire, whose parents die in a fire at their mansion.  Violet is the oldest and will inherit the family fortune when she is of age. A man named Count Olaf who is their relative (he is a third cousin removed 4 times, or a fourth cousin removed 3 times), has adopted the the the Baudelaire orphans.  Mr. Poe takes them to Count Olaf’s house, but if they have any questions to talk to him. Count Olaf is an evil man and only wants the Baudelaire fortune. Count Olaf has a tower that the children are banned from. Everyday Count Olaf is gone in the mornings, and leaves a list of chores for them to do.  Count Olaf acts in his acting troupe, and one night he tells the children that his troupe is coming over for dinner, and makes them make dinner for 10 guests. The children went next door to Justice Strauss’s house often, to go to her big library. Count Olaf tells the children that they will be in one of his plays, The Marvelous Marriage, Count Olaf will be the groom, Violet the bride, Klaus and Sunny will be people in the audience and Justice Strauss will be the judge (Justice Strauss is a real judge).  Soon the play was over and Count Olaf thought he had married Violet, but she outsmarted him. Count Olaf was to be sent to jail, but suddenly the lights went out and when they turned back on Count Olaf was gone, and so was his troupe. Justice Strauss said that the children can come live with her, but Mr. Poe stops them, he says the in their parents will that they would be adopted by a relative. Beast Quest; Tagus the Horse-Man, by Adam Blade

In the book Beast Quest; Tagus the Horse-Man I think that the sense of mystery creates a story that you read and you’re always on the edge of your seat. You always feel the sense of urgency that you want to know what happens next. I think it is a good book because you can sense how the characters are feeling, if they are scared or excited.

The author did a good job making the book. It feels like he added the feeling of when I get home I want to read this book. I’ll add that there were parts that if I was the character I would’ve not done those things. But all together I round up the book to a great book and series.

Three things I like about the book were when the horse and the girl come to rescue the cows from the fire,  when they find the boy Peter, and when they escape from jail.

Warriors; Into the Wild, by Erin Hunter

This was a really good,it is about some wild cats. There's a cat named Rusty and he was a pet but then he joined the Thunder Clan and the clan changed his name to Fire Paw and then at the end of the book they changed his name to Fire Heart because he became a warrior.

There's a lot to the book and not to mention but there is a lot of other books in this series and they are really good. Honestly this is my favorite book series ever.

A Series of Unfortunate Events The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket

A Series of Unfortunate Events The Reptile Room was such a good book.  The Reptile Room is the second book in “A series of Unfortunate Events.”  This book tells a story about the three Baudelaire orphans. Violet Baudelaire is fourteen,  Klaus Baudelaire is twelve and Sunny Baudelaire is a toddler.

Their parents had perished in a terrible fire and their first guardian was Count Olaf, who was a terrible person and made the Baudelaire children do many hard chores.   If I was going to rate this book I would rate it a nine out of ten.

In book two, The Reptile Room, the Baudelaires got adopted by their Uncle Monty. He was a herpetological scientist. He had a room called the reptile room and it was filled with lots of snakes, some books and some venom samples of snakes.  Sadly Uncle Monty died in this book because of an invention Count Olaf built.

Count Olaf returned in this book because he was after the Baudelaire fortune which can not be used until Violet come of age. The invention was a sort of machine that looked like a snake had bit him. The three Baudelaires try to prove to Mr.Poe that Count Olaf murdered him.  Mr.Poe is a friend of the Baudelaire parents and would help them find a new guardian and handle their fortune. Mr.Poe works at Mulctuary Money Management.

This book was a very good book and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good book.

Ellie’s Story, By W. Bruce Cameron

Ellie’s story is about a little German Shepard puppy who is trained to be a search and rescue dog.  Ellie gets adopted by a man named Jakob. Jakob takes Ellie to the park every day to practice becoming a search and rescue.  Ellie has to find a man named Wally, by tracking his sent.

The first person Ellie rescues is a little girl, Emily, who was kidnapped.  A woman named Maya came and took Ellie. Maya was going to work with Ellie like Jakob did. At first Ellie did the same training as she did with Jakob, find Wally.  

When Ellie was rescuing someone she damage here sense of smell. Ellie could never find Wally in the park. Ellie was now a retired search and rescue dog, Maya and Ellie went to schools, and hospitals and  many other places, to talk about Ellie, and what she used to do for her work.

One day they were in a class when someone said someone was missing. A boy named Geoffrey. Ellie found him without her smell. After all of Ellie’s hard work, she gets a collar with a big star from the police station to honor her.  

Ellie’s Story is the best book I’ve ever read. I would definitely recommend this book to other people, because it is a great book, and teaches about search and rescue.
